GRAND TASTING HIGHLIGHTS 2009

Award-winning wines and unbelievable food tastings drew hundreds of guests from our community to the 7th Annual Columbus Food & Wine Affair Grand Tasting on Friday, September 25. With more than 300 wines to choose from and delicious tastings from over 30 of Central Ohio’s finest restaurants, guests feasted on oysters, sushi, beef and beautifully created desserts that they easily paired with the myriad of wines being poured.

 As they strolled through the Conservatory, Outdoor Terraces and Grand Mallway, they watched as chef after chef demonstrated how to prepare some of the restaurants’ most delicious offerings. A chandelier made of ice along with colorful lighting, abundant foliage and the latest Chihuly exhibit, added to the ambience as guests savored the most spectacular Grand Tasting to date. While music drifted through the night, those attending enjoyed the creativity and items presented by premiere artists and retailers. They bid on much-sought after auction items like jewelry, wine and restaurants packages, web design work and so much more.

 

So much to do and so many to benefit, as the 2009 Columbus Food & Wine Affair  Grand Tasting proceeds were distributed to the WBNS 10-TV Family Fund, Central Ohio Restaurant Association Foundation, Children's Hunger Alliance, Columbus College of Art & Design, Ian Adams Van Heyde Scholarship Fund, Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
