In 2006, the Columbus Food and Wine Affair hosted the Chef and Vintner Grand Pairing event for the first time. Events for this multi-faceted affair began Saturday, August 18, with the Chef and Vintner Grand Pairing at the Columbus Museum of Art. This annual black-tie event was by invitation only and was enjoyed by over 150 guests for the evening.
Guests experienced an evening of culinary delights and vintage wine paired together like never before! An exquisite five-course wine dinner coupled Columbus' best chefs with the wine industry's most vibrant winemakers. The evening began with a Champagne Reception then moved to the classical setting of Derby Court for dinner and wine pairings.
Courses were presented by Chef Hubert Siefert, Spagio, Chef Harmut Handke, CMC, The Refectory Restaurant and Chef Robert Blondin, M Restaurants Chef Brian Henshaw and from Pistachio, Chef John Pegalla III. Vinters presented were the Girard Winery and Sanford Winery, both from California and producing award-winning wines.
